UIPA Celebrates Milestone at BZI Innovation Park Grand Opening

The Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) proudly joined community leaders, state officials, and private sector partners on July 1, 2025, to celebrate the official opening of the BZI Innovation Park and Transportation Hub in Iron County—a transformative 820-acre development in the heart of the Iron Springs Project Area.

UIPA has played a strategic role in supporting this project from its inception, helping lay the groundwork for critical infrastructure and rail connectivity that have made this location a magnet for advanced manufacturing, construction, and logistics industries. As one of UIPA’s designated project areas, Iron Springs benefits from the Authority’s investment in sustainable transportation systems, including expanded freight rail access that is already delivering results.

Since launching operations in 2023, the park’s on-site transload facility—RailSync™—has moved more than 600 railcars, removing an estimated 2,500 truckloads from Mountain West highways and helping reduce emissions along major corridors. These outcomes align directly with UIPA’s mission to build smarter, cleaner, and more efficient freight infrastructure statewide.

“This is a textbook example of what the Utah Inland Port Authority was created to do—support innovative infrastructure that powers rural economies, strengthens supply chains, and improves quality of life,” said Ben Hart, UIPA Executive Director. “BZI’s vision and execution have been extraordinary, and we’re proud to be their partner in this journey.”

UIPA will continue to collaborate with BZI and other local stakeholders to attract new tenants to the park and build on this momentum—bringing job growth, sustainable industry, and economic opportunity to southern Utah.

“The BZI Innovation Park is more than a development—it’s a catalyst for long-term growth in Iron County,” said Danny Stewart, Associate Vice President of Regional Project Area Development with UIPA. “It’s creating real momentum for businesses looking to locate in rural Utah, and we’re just getting started.”Learn more at inlandportauthority.utah.gov or bziinnovationpark.com.
